Our Story
Built by Someone Who Lived It
Ascent Trim & Wellness was founded by Don Murray — U.S. Army veteran, entrepreneur, and stepdad — who spent decades fighting a body that wouldn't cooperate. Three surgeries. Over $100,000 spent. A lifetime of diets that never lasted. When he discovered GLP-1 therapy, everything changed. He built Ascent so no one in Colorado Springs has to go through what he went through just to get here.

Why I Built Ascent Trim & Wellness
I’ve Had Three Weight Loss Surgeries
First, the Swedish Adjustable Gastric Band (SAGB). Then the removal when it failed. Then a full gastric bypass.
Each time, I thought: “This is it. This is the answer.”
And each time, the weight came back. Not because I didn’t try. Not because I lacked willpower. But because my body—my hunger, my metabolism, my relationship with food—was working against me.
Here’s what nobody tells you about living with obesity: You’re trapped. You’re heavy. You’re unhealthy. You KNOW it. But you’re still hungry. You can’t just “stop eating.”
Imagine telling a heroin addict: “You need SOME heroin every day, or you’ll die.” The option to go cold turkey doesn’t exist with food. You have to face your addiction—your struggle—three times a day, every single day, for the rest of your life.
That’s the prison. And I lived in it for decades.
Then I Discovered GLP-1 Therapy
When I first heard about these game-changing compounds, I couldn’t wait to deliver the absolute BEST forms of these medicines to patients who really need it.
For the first time in my life, I wasn’t fighting my body. I was working WITH it. These powerful compounds—made naturally in the body—gave me a TRUE leg up.
But here’s what I learned: the medication alone isn’t enough. You need the RIGHT compounds (not the cheapest). You need a doctor who understands metabolic health. You need coaches who get it. You need a plan that treats you like a human being, not a number.
When I moved to Colorado Springs, I didn’t “find” this kind of care. I suffered in the pain of failure and body weight set points. I knew there had to be a better way.
So I built it.
Nobody Understands the Prison Like I Do
If you’ve been where I’ve been—frustrated, exhausted, ashamed, ready to give up—I want you to know: there IS a way out.
You’re not broken. You’re not weak. You’re fighting a battle that most people will never understand.
But I do. And so does our team.
We’re here to give you the tools, the medicine, the support, and the hope you need to finally win this fight.
Your climb starts here. And we’re climbing with you.
